Suzuki Japan has unveiled the Karimun WagonR 7 seater MPV that was displayed at 2013 Indonesian International Motor Show. A move by Suzuki that surprised us all.
No doubt that 7 seater MPV's was in focus during the show - with products displayed mainly by Datsun GO+ and Honda Mobilio. Suzuki, too grabbed some attention by displaying the 7 seater MPV without altering the overall length of the car. Yes, the car still remains less than 4 metres.
None other details except wheelbase of the car was disclosed by the Japanese carmaker. Says Davy Tuilan, Marketing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales – “It’s still a concept and no decision has been made”. However, it has been confirmed that if this Wagon R goes into production, it would be a contender for the Indonesian LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) project, thereby availing some tax benefits.
The WagonR 7 seater MPV would be positioned below Ertiga MPV and could be priced at less than 100 million Indonesian Rupiah (INR 5.37 lakhs) - pricing some thing similar to Datsun GO+ MPV.
