Customer's XUV 5OO goes missing from service center

Mr. P Jayaram from Thane must be surely annoyed at the Mahindra's authorized service center when he got the news that the car is missing from the service station. It was only after the intervention by Anand Mahindra, chairman of the automobile company, that Jayaram got some relief.

Jayaram, a senior executive in an infrastructure firm, said his vehicle went missing from Global Gallarie Agencies Private Ltd at Manpada on August 30, a day after it was sent there. The centre staffers told Jayaram that his driver must have taken it.

On arrival at the service center, the officials told him that the car was taken by his driver, upon non explanation of reason for missing of the car, Mr. Jayaram filed a FIR with Kapurbawdi police station the same day. Six days later, he sent a legal notice to Global Gallarie. On September 16, he wrote an email to M&M chief. On September 18, Jayaram received a reply from Anand Mahindra, assuring him that his concerns would be looked into. It was only then the agency officials sprung into action and offered him a standby car.

Jayaram, who had spent Rs 14 lakh when he bought the vehicle about 18 months ago, said he made his driver lodge the complaint as the service centre first put the blame on him. "I want a fair compensation and action against the concerned employee. The agency now says they can compensate me only after my insurance claim is settled, which will happen after 90 days."

A spokesperson from M&M said, "Our dealer is taking all necessary action at its end to address this issue and the dealer has agreed to take care of customer's mobility in the interim period by offering a standby vehicle"
