Skoda Octavia facelift, which was first teased a couple of months ago and the production of which started in India last month is expected to be unveiled here on 3rd October 2013. The car has already started arriving here in the dealerships.
The car was first unveiled officially by Skoda CEO, Prof. Dr. h.c Winfried Vahland and was officially disclosed that the new car will replace the outgoing Skoda Laura. Skoda's Aurangabad facility has already started the production. The new car would be available in two petrol engine options and one diesel engine option.
The base variants would be available on 1.4L Petrol engine and the higher variants in 1.8L Petrol engines. The 1.4L Petrol engine would be available with 140PS of power output and 250 Nm of torque. The car is claimed to deliver a mileage of 16.8 Km/L. The lower variant engine would be available with 6 speed manual gearbox.
The top end variant would be available with 1.8L Petrol engine delivering 180PS of power rather than earlier 160 PS of power. This engine comes only with the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the cars would also be available in 2.0L four cylinder CR diesel engine delivering a power output of 143 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. While the 6-speed manual comes in Active and Ambition grades, the 6-speed DSG will be available in Ambition and Elegance trims.
