Hyundai's upcoming new car to be positioned between i10 and i20 is no secret now. The new car to be called - Grand i10 will officially debut on 3rd September 2013 and should be a cause of concern for all other carmakers in the country. This means India will witness the launch much before the global unveiling during Frankfurt Motor Show second week in September. This again explains the importance of Indian auto market for Hyundai and gives us another reason to cheer about.
The new fluidic design of Grand i10 has again done wonders and this could be the best sellers of the year - even ahead of Honda's Amaze and Ford's EcoSport, however the actual performance remains to be seen. The Grand i10 will come up with several exciting features including Rear AC vents, which will be the first in class. Other features offered in the car are electric ORVMs, height adjustable driver's seat, reversing camera and few more. The car is likely to have some advanced safety features as well including ABS and airbags. The Grand i10 also has a longer wheelbase than the regular i10, so it is more spacious too.
The Grand i10 will be available in four trims – Magna, Sports, Asta and Asta (O).
The car will be offered with two engine options, a 1.1-litre, three cylinder U2 VGT diesel motor that develops an estimated 75bhp, and the familiar 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine with a four-speed automatic as an option.
