Honda Activa has been the king of the scooter segment since the time it was launched. After the split of Hero-Honda Joint venture, Hero rolled out their scooter Maestro while Activa was retained with Honda's portfolio, thereby giving an edge to Honda in the domestic scooter market in India.
Honda's Activa due to its high demand has been on a waiting list however the Japanese company has now found a permanent solution to it. The scooter manufacturer has set up a plant about 50 Kms away from Karnataka in Narsapura.
The new plant will cater to various purposes. Apart from reducing the waiting period, the new plant would also cater to the south Indian markets. As of now, the new plant at Karnataka is equipped to manufacture 12 lakh units per annum . It could also be added with additional 6 lakh as per the demand.
