BMW's i3 electric car would be globally unveiled on 29th July 2013. The carmaker has released an official video and images of the production version of the electric car.
i8 which will be followed later after i3 will combine the electric technology along with the sporty performance. BMW's i3 is a four door hatch however will be marketed only as a city commuter car. The car's rear doors will be operated only after opening the front doors of the car.
An electric motor rated at 170bhp of power and 250Nm of torque powers the car. This enables the i3 to hit 100km/h from rest in 8 seconds. The top-speed though (typical of any electric car) is a 150km/h.
