Suzuki group chairman Osamu Suzuki to visit India on 25th July



Suzuki Group Chairman Mr. Osamu Suzuki is planning to visit India on 25th July 2013. Mr. Suzuki would be here in the capital to attend the board meeting of its Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki and also take stock of its operations here in India. This would be his third visit in India during this year.

Suzuki Motor is the majority owner of its largest subsidiary - Maruti Suzuki. The company in its effort to maintain the market share of 40% has been taking various initiatives here at its Indian subsidiary. The carmaker plans to launch 10 new cars from Indian factory until 2017-18 with the first one being a small car which would replace current A-Star and Estilo. The car is codemamed as YL7 and is scheduled for a festive season launch this year. The car will only be launched in Petrol variant.

The other new cars to be rolled out of Indian subsidiary includes Crossover version of SX4 - which would compete with likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster. There are other SUV's and a commercial vehicle also planned for a launch in year 2015.

Maruti Suzuki is currently the largest single contributor to Suzuki's global share. The Indian subsidiary contributes 37% of total Suzuki output.
