Honda Cars India to increase Amaze's production to reduce waiting period



Honda Cars India have launched their first Diesel sedan in India and has subsequently gained from it. The company is now very much confident about its results from India and has been investing significantly since then. The company will be launching Diesel powered Honda City and also a small 1.2L Diesel engine soon.

Till then to keep the momentum up, the car maker has decided to increase its production of Amaze by adding a third shift at its Greater Noida plant. The carmaker plans to reduce its waiting period by 2 months from currently 4-5 months.

Mr. Jnaneshwar Sen, Senior Vice President said -

"The demand for Amaze has been so strong and we still continue to have more bookings. In order to reduce the waiting period, we have decided to start a third shift at the Greater Noida plant by November"

Honda is also in the process of setting up an assembly line at its Tapukara facility which would double the company’s annual production capacity to 2,40,000 units by 2014.
