1 dead and 8 injured at Alicon Castalloy Manesar cylinder blast incident



One labourer was killed and eight others were seriously injured after a gas cylinder exploded on Friday morning in an auto spare parts manufacturing factory, located in Bhoda Kalan village near IMT Manesar. The condition of four injured was reported to be critical. They were admitted to Medanta Medicity hospital in Gurgaon. Others are in Neelkanth hospital.

After the incident, on the instructions of deputy commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi, Pataudi SDM Manoj Khatri rushed to the site to assess the situation and talked to the company management and workers.

The incident took place in Alicon Castalloy Ltd on Friday morning around 9.30am, when a 33kg gas cylinder exploded, where the labourers were busy in work. In the accident, nine persons were injured.

One of the workers, identified as 38-year-old Rambabu Yadav, died during treatment in the hospital.

After inspecting the site of the accident, Khatri instructed the management to get a job for the deceased worker's wife as per her ability in the factory. The factory management told to the SDM that a team from their headquarters in Pune will reach here on Saturday and investigate the matter.

The other injured workers have been identified as Ravi Prakash Ranja, Anita Devi, Satya, Shyamdhar, Phool Singh, Krishan Lal, Vinod Sharma and Achhe Lal, which are admitted in two private hospitals in Gurgaon.
