Just a couple of days back, Opel Corsa was spotted in Bengaluru roads with a temporary MH registration number plate. GM earlier had a range of cars from Opel, Cordsa, Astra, Sail and Vectra in India but were later discontinued from Indian market.
Just looking at this variant, does one thinks the brand could be brought back to India. Opel Corsa Ecoflex, the one seen here is a two door car with engine variants available as 1.0L petrol engine, 1.4L petrol engine and the reknowned 1.3L Multijet diesel engine.
These three engines are categorized as ecoFLEX to signify their high fuel efficiency and low emissions. The 1.0L petrol engine develops 64 bhp, the 1.4L manages 87 bhp and the familiar 1.3L diesel puts out a familiar 75 bhp.
However, the car was caught testing in Bengaluru, which is the home to GM's technical center in India, the American carmaker would have been testing some components here in India. These could be locally developed auto components which are fitted in the car - however there are minimal chances that the car is tested here before being a launch here.
However, we are yet to confirm the same from the carmaker and will update more details on this one soon. Stay tuned.
