Finally, the much awaited Ford's EcoSport - the Urban SUV will be launched on 26th June 2013.
The car was first previewed an year and half back and since then almost every car lover in the country has his / her eyes laid on the beauty. A couple of months ago, we broke out the news that few of the dealers have been shipped the Ford's EcoSport and brought to you the first exclusive images.
Last week, we told you the carmaker has officially started accepting bookings of the car by taking Rs 50,000 and now we bring in the news that Ford has started dispatching / shipping the cars to dealers across India. It is also being told by sources at Ford that only 250 cars would be given to a single dealers per month.
It is also told that Ford EcoSport will be produced at 5 different locations with China and Brazil already producing the car. Chennai, India would be the third location wherein the car would be manufactured. Apart from this the car would also be manufactured at Thailand and Russia, the production at these two locations will start after Chennai plant.
“The EcoSport looks fantastic,” said Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer, Ford. “The Chennai team, together with our supplier partners, has done an outstanding job in delivering our customers a great looking, fuel efficient, safe, compact utility vehicle with impressive functionality and connectivity.”
The EcoSport is a great example of Ford’s leadership in the global shift to fuel-efficient and functional utility vehicles. Utilities are helping drive our expansion throughout the region, particularly in emerging markets, where growth in the utility segments is exploding. says Dave Schoch, Ford Asia Pacific president.
