Honda launches Activa-i Scooter priced at Rs 44,200 ex-showroom, New Delhi.



The two wheeler arm of Honda Motors from Japan, after splitting from its 25 year old Indian partner - Hero MotoCorp (earlier Hero Honda) is quitely planning out to be number one in the domestic automobile market.

The Japanese automaker though is quiet but is planning a war on the market leader - Hero MotoCorp by launching one by one several new products in the market. Recently, Honda overtook Bajaj Auto to be at number two in the domestic two wheeler market. Though, if we include Exports - Honda is still way behind Bajaj.

After updating its complete scooter lineup earlier this year, Honda launched the Trigger 150cc and Dream Neo 110cc motorcycles. The products though are yet to be seen on the Indian roads - Honda has launched Activa-i scooter priced at Rs 44,200 ex-showroom, New Delhi.

The scooter is powered by the same 110cc single cylinder, engine which produces a power of 8 BHP and 8.74 N-m of torque. The scooter is available for sale in four different colors - Red, White, Purple and Beige.  The new Activa-i will be available across all dealerships by the end of this month.

The scooter has a ground clearance of 165mm and the weight of the scooter is 103 Kgs. The changes also includes new instrument cluster and tail lights. The company claims that the Activa-i is the first light weight compact automatic scooter in India.

The new features that the Japanese carmaker has included in this scooter include Combi Braking system (CBS), tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery and viscous air filter. The scooter comes with an underseat storage capacity of 18 Liters.
