Honda Cars India Ltd. which increased the prices of all its cars last month except the newly launched Amaze. However, the Japanese carmaker has now decided to increase the prices of the car from Rs 3,000 - 8,000.
"We raised prices of the City (Rs 3,000), Brio (Rs 2,000-10 ,000) and Accord (Rs 5,000) in April and followed it up with a Rs 3,000-8 ,000 increase in Amaze prices and Rs 6,000-14 ,000 hike in CRV prices effective June 1," said Janeshwar Sen, senior VP-marketing and sales, Honda. "So we're not looking at another round of price increases just yet."
During May 2013, Amaze registered a sales of 6,036 units and reached the 8th highest car sold in India within just 2 months of launch is something to talk about. All thanks to Amaze, Honda registered apprx. 10% growth y-o-y in its overall domestic sales volumes.
