20 yr. old rams his Audi Q7 in Bangalore - claims life of another 20 yr. old sole breadwinner



A 20 yr. old boy on Monday, fleed from the spot after ramming his brand new Audi Q7 into an auto rickshaw near Mayo hall junction in wee hours.

Police have identified the accused as Rajesh L Reddy, a 3rd-year BBM student at Christ College and a resident of CV Raman Nagar. He is the second son of businessman Lokesh Reddy.

The horrific accident took place in front of many viewers who saw the auto toppling over thrice, such was an impact of the speeding SUV. The accident claimed the life of Deepak, another 20 yr. old guy who was in the auto rickshaw with another driver and his friend Younis Ali, who is believed to be critically injured.

It was a day of drama at the Ashok Nagar traffic police station. While additional commissioner of police (traffic) MA Saleem said police had decided to registered a case against the accused under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as Rajesh had fled the scene after the accident and for speeding, Rajesh’s father was seen requesting police not to book his son saying he was bright boy who wanted to pursue his higher studies in London.

Police investigation revealed that the newly bought car was a birthday gift from Rajesh’s father to his mother, Prema Reddy. Investigation has revealed that the Audi was speeding at more than 120kmph when it hit the autorickshaw around 2 am on Sunday.

Rajesh’s driver reportedly was sitting next to him, while his two friends, identified as Prithvi and Nikhil, were sitting on the rear seats. All of them allegedly were under the influence of alcohol.

According to police, Rajesh has confessed that he was driving the car and also confessed that he was under the influence of alcohol. They had come out to purchase food for her mother's birthday ceremony and accident took place. But Rajesh's father said, his son was not driving the car and the driver was behind the wheels.
