Volvo V40 Cross Country Coupe was in news for a long time now, and we even briefed you before on the launch date of the car. The car was officially displayed to selected media day before yesterday and now has finally been launched. The price of Volvo V40 is kept at Rs 28.5 Lac, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The car measures 4.37m in length, 1.78m in width, 1.45m in height and has a wheelbase of 2.64m. The Swedish carmaker has brought V40 in just one variant which means standard features across. It is powered by a 2.0 litre five cylinder D3 diesel engine that generates 150bhp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. The car can accelerate from 0-100kph in 9.3 seconds. The claimed mileage stands at 16.8kpl. It is also equipped with the world’s first pedestrian airbag technology and is also the only car in its class to be available with Pedestrian Detection Technology.
The car compete with Mercedes A Class and other rivals including BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
The V40 is overloaded with features and includes SIPS airbags, knee airbags and inflatable curtain airbags, start-stop technology, front seats with whiplash protection.
Other features include a fixed panoramic sunroof, A/C with clean air filter technology, cruise control, leather seating surfaces with heated and power front seats with memory settings for the driver. More features include cruise control, rear parking camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Additional features include a sunglass holder, compass, remote keyless entry with push button start, an illuminated gear knob, LED day-time running lights with active bending technology. Standard equipment also includes 17-inch “Larenta” alloy wheels with brushed-aluminum finish.
The digital instrument cluster with an in-built 8-inch TFT display is customisable, with the provision for three modes – Elegance, Eco and Performance.
In the Elegance mode - you will just notice the highlighted needle to show the speed on the speedometer along with the gear indicator if used in manual version. It will be simple yet elegant.
In the Eco mode - the display is similar to the Elegance mode but includes other economy related features like average and real time fuel consumption. If driven efficiently, an "Eco" symbol is also displayed.
In Performance mode - the center dial turns itself into the tachometer and there is a digital display of speed in the center of the dial. Also displayed is the power currently used and available power before overtaking.
Automatic Parking Pilot
The next feature - Automatic Parking pilot when used - it turns on the ultrasonic sensor and will detect the space available nearby for parking. To be exact, it will detect the parking space (1.2 times the length of the vehicle) and what you need to do is just control the speed of the vehicle and engage the vehicle in reverse. Rest is the work of Volvo V40 Cross Country Coupe and it will park automatically.
