French carmaker, Renault India has recalled 7,016 cars including Pulse hatchback and Scala sedan models which are produced at its Oragadam factory in India. The reason for the recall is the faulty master brake cylinder in these vehicles.
Earlier this week, Nissan too recalled apprx. 22,000 vehicles including Micra and Sunny due to the same reason. Since, the siblings - Sunny/Scala and Micra/Pulse are produced at the same location at Renault-Nissan joint venture complex in Chennai, they too have a similar supplier for supplying of their critical components.
Earlier this week, Japanese carmaker Toyota recalled about 1,000 units of the diesel variant of its sedan Corolla Altis manufactured between August 3, 2012 and February 14 this year, due to a faulty driveshaft.
The breakup of vehicles include 2,836 units of Pulse hatchback and 4,180 units of Scala sedan, which will be recalled. Renualt dealers will contact the respective owners to fix up timings for correcting/replacing the part free of cost.
