Hyundai stops the production of Accent in April 2013



We last told you in January 2013, that Accent would be discontinued for the domestic market and will only be continued for the exports market. 

The car was launched in 1999 and its sales in taxi segment has also come to slowdown since time Etios has been launched.  Hyundai Accent which uses 1.5L Gasoline engine and is also available in CNG option still has a descent domestic demand. But, as per the carmaker the company would like to use this for other models which cater even better demand in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, we heard that Hyundai is working on diesel i10 variant which would be launched in September 2013 in the Indian market and have also spied testing same. The carmaker confirms the smaller diesel engine is under progress and the carmaker is yet to start the production of its smaller diesel engine in a few months from now.
