Ford EcoSport brochures are out here and as per this, the Compact SUV from Ford will be launched in 4 different trim levels - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, Titanium Optional. A top of the line variant - Titanium Optional is available which means, the carmaker tries to cover all class of people and plans to cater to needs of entry level features looking people, with the base trims and also to compete with top end Renault Duster, a top end Titanium Optional will be available.
This however still remains a big question mark as to where will all the 3 engine variants be placed, how will be price levels be defined ! Will the 1.5L Petrol engine be costlier than the 1.0L Ecoboost engine, the later being providing higher power output figures and spectacular mileage figures.
As per the brochures, the base end Ambiente variant will be offered with 1.5L Petrol engine and 1.5L Diesel engine. No 1.0L Ecoboost will be provided. The base variant also gets lot of goodies such as Body colored bumpers, Remotely controlled central locking, Audin system with USB + Bluetooth capability, Multifunctional display, Electric ORVM's with turn indicators on it, which is generally provided on high end variants in other cars like Hyundai's and Maruti's. Also, 100% rear seat folding options are available on base end Ambiente variant. No Rear parcel tray.
The next in line, Trend variant, gets following features in addition to Ambiente which includes ABS +EBD, Rear defogger + wiper and washer, Body colored exteriors mirrors, 60:40 rear seat folding options, driver seat adjuster, silver chrome linings on outside door handles, center stack and air wings, audio controls on steering wheels.
The next in line, is Titanium variant, and the first one of all the variants to get a 1.0L EcoBoost engine. The other features in this variant inclues Auto AC, 16" alloy wheels, SYNC system, Dual airbags, Roof rails, reverse parking sensors, Cooled glove box and optional Automatic variant availability.
There also exists top of the end Titanium Optional variant available which covers features like Leather seats, Push start stop button, Side & Curtain airbags and keyless vehicle system. This top of the line variant was expected in line with Renault's Strategy of launching Renault Duster RxZ (O) variant which offered the similar features like Leather seats etc. etc. (read more about it here)
However, the American carmaker would be conducting a media drive later this month at Goa wherein couple of automotive journalists across the world will test drive the vehicle and get to know more about the vehicle and early next month, launch is expected. Stay tuned.
Also, we would also like to tell you again, Wheel-O-Mania was the first to get hold of Original images and details of EcoSport spotted at a showroom. View more details and Images here.
To our surprise, as per the brochures, the Rood Rails will not be available on Ambiente and Trend variants and will only be available on Titanium and Titanium Optional variants. Could this be a sore point for Ford EcoSport. in India ? Remember, the masses in India would be purchasing this SUV because of its SUV / Butchy type looks and lack of roof rails could evade off this looks from EcoSport. Atleast, it should be available as an accessory at all dealerships. P.S. Even, its target competitor, Renault Duster provides roof rails on all variants as standard. What do you guys think on this one ? How would you imagine EcoSport without roof rails ?
Here are some more images which gives you the features and specifications of all models in details.

Price?
Yes. Roof rails are significant for a suv look. It is as needed as the rear mounted spare wheel.
If the accessory is available and if wouldn't cost much.. Then it makes sense of buying the basic versions and getting the rails fixed.
Just of reason of roof rail why would one go against the decision..
