Around 2,000 buses from eight states operate from the ISBT. "I thought when we have a world-class airport, why not have a bus terminal with similar facilities which is used more by the common man," Dikshit said speaking on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami said facilities at ISBTs in Anand Vihar, Sarai Kale Khan, Narela and Dwarka will also be improved. "The architectural integrity and fa├žade has been maintained, while the interiors have been upgraded to deliver the best to the common man.
