Spied - Skoda Octavia found testing in Bangalore, India - Video

Skoda Octavia facelift was officially revealed a couple of months back and now the car has for the first time been spotted testing in India. The car sports a "MH" registration number which shows that the car has been out of its Aurangabad plant. (Also View Skoda Octavia testing in Pune)

The car would differ from current generation Skoda Octavia as follows - The wheelbase is extended by 108 mm, the overall length is increased by 90 mm (4,659 mm) and the width is increased by 45 mm (1,814 mm) extra knee room of 73mm and 980mm of headroom for the rear seat passengers. The front head room of car is enhanced by 8 mm, whereas front elbow width by 39 mm and rear elbow width by 26 mm. The space is further enhanced by improvements in head and shoulder room which are increased by 9 mm and 39 mm respectively. The boot space stands to 590 litres. Well, even after so much addition in length, width and breadth of the car, the Skoda engineers have managed to reduce the weight of the car by 102 Kgs.

Engine details -

  • A Total of 4 Gasoline and 4 diesel engines 
  • 1.4L TSI Gasoline engine which produces 120 and 138 bhp - two variants. 
  • Also available is the 1.8L TSI engine which 177 bhp. 
  • 1.6L TDI Diesel engine which produces 103 bhp 
  • 2.0L TDI Diesel engine which produces 147 bhp and 181 bhp.

  • All versions come equipped with Green Tec Start/Stop system
  • All versions come equipped with Brake Energy Regeneration
  • Secondary Braking system equipped in top end variant to avoid Frontal collision
  • Nine Airbags in all - Knee Airbag is standard on all variants. Top end variants gets Rear Airbags too
  • Active Bonnet to reduce injury to Pedestrians
  • Navigation and multimedia system with multi touch supporting screen
  • Adaptive headlamps, Sunroof, Radar assisted adaptive cruise control, traffic sign reading system.
