Beat hatchback has been a trump card for Chevrolet's India. It simply forms 50% of Chevrolet India's sales. Chevrolet in India sold 88K vehicles in April 2012 - March 2013. Out of 88K, Beat alone sold 44K vehicles.
Now with the launch of Sail U-VA and Sail sedan, the American car maker is strengthening its overall portfolio but GM knows, at the same time, it's necessary to strengthen its exisiting portfolio too and especially the small hatchback, with Indian market still garnering maximum volumes in small segment hatchbacks. And here is GM India, testing Beat LPG facelift variant in India.
The car as you can clearly see has a LPG sticker on the rear windshield and a small metal plate below the Beat LT variant, confirming this to be a LPG Compliant vehicle. On the dashboard, near to headlamp adjustment switches, you could see swictches for changing of fuel - Petrol to LPG and vice versa.
Just next to the gasoline fuel tank lid, you could find the way to fill in LPG for your cylinder installed in the boot space. The dashboard, exteriors etc. of the car remains unchanged. Stay tuned for more details on Beat LPG facelift, once we get an official word from GM India.
