Official - BMW 7 series facelift to be launched in India on 25th April 2013



BMW India, has confirmed that the facelifted version of 7 series would be launched on 25th April 2013 in Mumbai. The German carmaker has already previewed the LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) 7 series to a select number of invitees at Jodhpur One World Retreat from 08-10th March 2013.

The changes in the BMW 7 series would include -

Exterior Changes

  • Redesigned LED headlamps with corona rings
  • An updated kidney grill with 9 chrome slats instead of 12
  • Redesigned front bumpers
  • Wheebase increased by 5.5 inches
  • Reduction in ground clearance by 8mm
  • New turn indicator under the outside mirrors

Interior Changes
  • A new 1,200-watt Bang & Olufsen High End Surround Sound System. 
  • Redesigned front leather seats
  • Optional Rear Entertainment package
  • Customizable digital instrument display
  • An updated iDrive system with 3D navigation display.

 In terms of engine, there are no changes that we expect in BMW 7 series and therefore expect it to be powered by 3.0L Inline six cylinder engine capable of delivering 246PS and 540Nm torque. The gasoline engines would be same 3.0L, 4.4L and 6.0L engine options. However, expect the six speed transmission box to be replaced by 8 speed gearbox offering faster gearshifts and also better fuel efficiency.
