Nissan Sunny's much awaited Automatic variant is here now. The car has reached all the showrooms across the country and the launch is awaited very soon. As per the confirmed sources, the price of Sunny AT is INR 8.49 Lac, ex-showroom, New Delhi.
As expected, the price comes 50,000 cheaper than the Renault Scala RxL CVT sedan. However, Scala RxZ CVT is priced at INR 9.89 Lac, but there is no XV variant or top end for Sunny in India. The only Automatic variant for Sunny in India will be Nissan Sunny XL CVT priced at INR 8.49 Lac. The car is priced at INR 8.92 Lac, ex-showroom, Mumbai.
For the car's manufactured in India by Nissan, this would be the first automatic transmission sedan in India and could later by offered in Micra facelift too. An Automatic variant of Nissan Sunny has already been caught testing a couple of months back and this confirms the information too.
The Sunny is available in two other engine-transmission combinations: 1.5 Liter petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and the 1.5 Liter turbo diesel engine also mated to a 5 speed speed manual gearbox. The Sunny Automatic will feature a CVT gearbox. Dubbed the X-TRONIC CVT , this gearbox is said to deliver fuel economy of 17.97 Kmpl, even better than the manual gearbox equipped Sunny petrol, at 16.95 Kmpl. The Sunny Automatic version is for sure expected to add volumes to Nissan's Kitty.
The Sunny’s automatic variant will compete against other petrol automatics in the market such as Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Skoda Rapid, VW Vento, Maruti SX4 and Hyundai Verna.
