As per our confirmed sources, Nissan Sunny Automatic sedan launch is just round the corner - within a couple of days from now. The Nissan Sunny Automatic is already into production at its Chennai plant and the carmaker has started dispatching the cars to various dealers across the country.
For the car's manufactured in India by Nissan, this would be the first automatic transmission sedan in India and could later by offered in Micra facelift too. An Automatic variant of Nissan Sunny has already been caught testing a couple of months back and this confirms the information too.
The Renault's Scala Automatic sedan was launched at price of INR 8.99 Lac and thereby we could easily expect Nissan to launch the Sunny Automatic a couple of thousands less than its French sibling. A price in bracket of INR 8.49 - 8.69 Lac should be reasonably good to launch the car looking at Honda City, Automatic priced above INR 9 Lac.
The Sunny is available in two other engine-transmission combinations: A 1.5 Liter petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and the 1.5 Liter turbo diesel engine also mated to a 5 speed speed manual gearbox. The Sunny Automatic will feature a CVT gearbox. Dubbed the X-TRONIC CVT , this gearbox is said to deliver better fuel economy than even the manual gearbox equipped Sunny petrol. The Sunny Automatic version is for sure expected to add volumes to Nissan's Kitty.
