Audi India sales up 10% in March



Audi India, month on month is breaking its own records in India. The company had set a target of selling 8,000 units of luxury cars in India during last year however the carmaker sold 9,200 units of cars last year. The company going by the strong brand reputation in India, decided to hold a target of selling 10,800 cars during year 2013.

With just 3 months passed, the car maker has sold 2,616 units of luxury cars in India which is 15.29% higher than that sold during the same period last year. During the month of March 2013, the carmaker managed to sell 1,104 units of cars when compared to 1,002 units during March 2012.

Audi India Head Michael Perschke said: "The first quarter of 2013 was a winning quarter for us. We surpassed our targets and are on our way to achieving further growth with strong plans for dealership expansion and exciting new products this year."

The company plans to expand its network to 34 dealerships by the end of 2013 from its existing 25 centres.

"Despite a difficult market scenario, a highly competitive environment, new players and newer models, we see a strong acceptance for our brand among successful business leaders. We see a clear trend that achievers from all walks of life want to associate with a winning brand like Audi," Perschke said.
