Honda Cars India Sales declines in the month of March by apprx. 9% however there has been a 35% increase in sales during the period April 2012-March 2013. The Japanese car maker sold a total of 73,483 units as compared to 54,427 in past financial year.
During the month of March, the carmaker registered a sales of 10,044 units against 11,016 in last month. This includes 3,917 Brio, 2552 Amaze, 3432 City, 113 Accord and 30 CR-V. The company looks forward to the launch of Amaze sedan in India. If priced well, we are sure, a number of 100,000 units at Honda Cars for next year is not far.
These numbers, 2552 would have gone to the dealers as they might have already received bookings or have been anticipating a huge response to this car.
Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. VP – Sales and Marketing, HCIL said, “We are delighted to witness a remarkable growth of 35% over last year although the market environment has been quite tough.Strong demand for Honda Brio and Honda City has been instrumental in achieving this success. The launch of Amaze this month will be a significant step in Honda’s strategy to begin a new phase of growth for our business in Indian market. We expect huge growth potential in tier 2 & tier 3 markets with this car and therefore we have been expanding our sales network to reach out to newer cities and markets.”
