Official - 2014 Chevrolet Beat to come up with Automatic transmission and Automatic headlamps for Beat hatchback

The American carmaker is gearing itself for a facelifted version of Beat hatchback. It is now official that the 2014 Beat could see changes including introduction of below mentioned features .
  • Addition of Automatic gearbox
  • Addition of Automatic headlamps

he CVT automatic gearbox will replace the 4 speed slush box that’s currently available on the US-spec Spark. The 2014 Spark will also gain turn indicators on the power adjustable wing mirrors, hill hold and two new colours: Lime and Grape Ice. Eventually, these changes are expected to make their way into the Chevrolet Spark sold in many international car markets.

The news has of now been only confirmed for US market and the company is tight lipped on Indian market new model. It still remains to be figured out whether the Indian spec will get Automatic gearbox and automatic headlams or not !

The major OEM's like Maruti Suzuki with A-Star, Hyundai with i10, Honda with Brio have availability of Automatic variants. Chevrolet's Beat is currently doing good in numbers but with the launch of other variants in this segment, the carmaker for sure needs to do something to exisiting line up. Especially, the upcoming new car from Hyundai, which could be called "Brilliant" is scheduled to be launched in 2013 October with a diesel and gasoline heart. This could pose as a major threat to competitors.

As the trend goes in India these days, an automatic variant to be more fuel efficient than the manual variant (Sunny and Scala Automatic) expect Beat Automatic to be more fuel efficient than the regular gasoline variant.
