Maruti Suzuki, the market leader in Passenger cars in India too is being affected from the very evident slowdown in auto sales in India. For the first time, the market has shown a de-growth of 7% in month of Jan + Feb combined, which otherwise are bumper months for Automotive industry in India.
Maruti Suzuki, just couple of days back had suspended production at its Gurgaon plant (which mainly produces Petrol cars) citing the reason of already available stock at dealer's end. Now, the carmaker seems to face the heat in Diesel cars too and has come up with unique offers on its second best selling car, Swift and that too diesel variant. The other reason could also be there are now too many competitors to Swift in the market (Read price reduction of Chevrolet Sail U-VA).
India's second best hatchback in India (after Alto), Swift is now being offered with Instant delivery. The instant delivery for the Swift Diesel is applicable on a first-come-first-serve basis, which suggests that there could be limited number of cars available to be included under this scheme. The offer is already running and will go on under sale until 17th march 2013.
Also, The Ritz Diesel is now being offered with a discount of up to 45,000 rupees while the petrol versions of the Ritz come with a discount of 25,000 rupees. Ritz facelift was just introduced in market, couple of months back and a hefty discount on such a car is worth grabbing and poses an extremely cautious image of market.
