Honda CBR 150 Streetfire to be launched on 11th March 2013

Honda's CBR 150R Streetfire is all set for a launch in Indian market on 11th March 2013. The bike has already been launched in Indonesian market and was showcased at Jakarta Motor Show.

This new motorcycle will be launched in the Indonesian market soon and is meant for the Asian market only. It does draw some styling inspiration from the CB Dazzler, with the exposed frame and engine. However, more than the styling inspiration, the CB150R Streetfire shares its hardware with the CBR150R. The Honda CB150R Streetfire was showcased in 4 colors at the show – white, black, tricolor and orange (with accessories).

The Honda CB150R Streetfire is the naked version of the Honda CBR150R, which is already on sale in the Indian market. Revealed here is the 2013 Streetfire CB150R sportsbike for the Indonesian motorcycle market, which is incidentally one of the biggest two wheeler markets after the likes of China and India. The Honda Streetfire CB150R retains the engine and cycle parts of the fully faired CBR150R, which means that is is powered by the same 150cc, DOHC, 4 valve, single cylinder-liquid cooled engine good for 18 Bhp of peak power and 12.5 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.

The styling of the Honda CB150R gives us a rough clue as to what the CB250R might look like. The naked version of the Honda CBR150R has huge potential in the Indian market. If Honda decides to bring in the CB150R Streetfire on the Indian roads, it can price it aggressively against the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. If priced at around Rs. 99,000/- (ex-showroom), the Honda CB150R Streetfire can give tough competition to Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar 200 NS.
