Chevrolet's Globa SUV - Trax was first unveiled at Paris Motor show 2012 and thereafter the American carmaker announced to launch the car in 140 different countries. - with Indian market being key market for Compact SUV's like Trax. Later, the Compact SUV was first spied in Mexico. This was the time when it was confirmed that the carmaker would soon launch this SUV, however the first country to get this SUV was still now known.
The American carmaker has now officially made available the first pictures on its South Korean website. The car would be launched on 25th February 2013. However, as per the sources, it will first be launched only in Petrol variants and later will be extended to the diesel variants. The Korean market will get 1.4L turbo petrol engine.
The 2013 Chevrolet Trax sold in South Korea is available in five variants. The top end versions of the Trax come with a big array of features. Stuff like 18 inch wheels, cruise control, 6 Airbags, ABS, ESP, leather seats, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, electric sunroof, Bose audio system and the Mylink infotainment system with Apple iPhone Siri connect are the various features that make it to the Chevrolet Trax in LTZ trim.
The carmaker should soon launch this SUV in India too as this is perhaps the only segment where carmakers can witness huge growth in India. The segment performed outstandingly and showed a growth of more tha 50% during year 2012. If launched in India, it will compete with Renault's Duster, Ford's EcoSport and the yet to be launched VW's Tiguan and Suzuki's S Crossover. Meanwhile, head on the videos of Chevrolet Trax.
