Ford EcoSport's launch is still a suspense for every body in the Indian market. The car was scheduled to be launched in January 2013 but the American car maker claims that due to the heavy localization which the carmaker is looking for the launch has been delayed and claims to launch the product soon in the market.
As far as our sources goes, the car has already reached the dealers stockyards and the launch is some time soon. There are various dealers who have claimed that the bookings are also open however, we believe this to be unofficial as of now - however, ofcourse, whenever the launch takes place, you will certainly get the priority over new customers since you booked the car prior to other. Even then, expect the car to be delivered not before April 2013 for certain models and even extend till May 2013 for other models.
Ford will be launching EcoSport with a Petrol as well as a Diesel variant in India with Petrol motor being a 1.0L Ecoboost petrol engine which is expected to produce 123 bhp and apprx 20 Kmpl of mileage and another 1.5L petrol engine. Ford EcoSport Diesel however will be powered by DV5 engine which is a 1.5L Diesel engine current powering the new Ford Fiesta.
Earlier, the car was spotted at a dealer in New Delhi area and now the car has been spotted by Team-bhp in Chennai area having MH registration number plate.
