Chevrolet officially begins Enjoy production at its Halol plant

Chevrolet India has officially started the production of its Enjoy MPV at its Halol plant. The MPV would be placed against Maruti Suzuki's Ertiga, which has created a separate segment- LUV in the market and has generated good response in the market. Maruti's Ertiga is currently selling at an average of 6,000 units per month - credits to Maruti Suzuki brand name & reputation in India. Chevrolet India plans to sell close to 3,000 units per month.

The MPV has been spotted couple of times - in Gujarat and in Gurgaon. The MPV would be powered by a 1.4L 95 Bhp petrol engine, close to rival Maruti Suzuki Ertiga's gasoline engine - K14B. The Chevrolet's MPV would also come with modified version of Fiat's 1.3L SDE engine, which is again close to its rival Maruti Suzuki Ertiga's diesel engine.

However the American car maker claims that the MPV would be more spacious as compared to Maruti's Ertiga and will offer more comfort & features at the same price. Expect the pricing of GM's MPV - Enjoy to be close to maruti Suzuki Ertiga's pricing. It is also disclosed that the second and the third row of seats of Enjoy could be folded or even removed thereby making it more useful in day to day life and you could make changes as required.
