Fiat India has finally pulled up their socks tighten up their lace and have drafted a plan for new launches until 2016. As a part of strategy, they had taken full year 2012 for developing their own separate Fiat Showrooms which is still ongoing. Thereafter, they would launch their new models and would attract customers through their superior after sales service and brand image via new showrooms.
As a part of their strategy, during early 2013, they would launch their refreshed Punto and Linea. However, during the end of 2013, Fiat plans to launch their new model - Linea Classic. Now what would this Linea Classic would be - we will have to wait n watch but could this be sub-Linea competing with Dzire, Brio Amaze, Chevrolet Sail sedan, Mahindra Verito etc ?
During the early 2014, New model of Linea would be launched and subsequently, New Punto during middle of 2014. During the Q32014, Fiat also plans to launch B CUV - which could be a Compact Sports Utility Vehicle and could compete Renault's Duster, Nissan's Duster based SUV, VW Taigun, Chevrolet Trax etc.
During the year 2015, we could see special edition of Linea and Punto in India.
During year 2016, refresh launches of all their models - Punto, Linea and Linea Classic.
How far would this strategy of Fiat would go and do you think this would help Fiat in gaining the market share since the company does not have any great plans to enter the smaller car market as it was rumored sub-Punto model could be launched. What's your take on this one !
