Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on a facelift model of Wagon R and will be launching it soon for the Indian market. Expect this to be only a subtle cosmetic upgrade rather than the whole body change.
As you can see from the Images, the first one being captured at 40th second of the video - shows the front changes in the model. These include a narrower front grill with one giant strip in between. The bumpers also comes with changes including the wider air dam and updwards backward bent fog lamps. On the rear however there were no major changes seen in styling. Expect, minor changes in the interiors too.
Wagon R currently comes with 3 cylinder 1.0L K series engine delivering 67 bhp, 90 N-m torque and the similar engine is expected to do duty in the facelifted model. It is currently available in Gasoline, CNG & LPG variant this too is expected to remain the same. The model currently competes with Hyundai i10, Honda Brio, Chevrolet Beat etc. however, Maruti Suzuki will now need a smaller diesel engine in order to compete with Chevrolet's Beat and Hyundai's i10 diesel which is reporterdly to be launched in Q3/Q4 of year 2013.
Head on to the Video now.
