As we have been reporting that Maruti Suzuki is working on launching Ritz Automatic, has finally launched the automatic hatchback and is priced at rs 6.15 lakh, ex-showroom price Delhi. The hatchback will now be available in Manual as well as Automatic variants.
Maruti Suzuki knows the importance of an Automatic gearbox and with i10 having an automatic gearbox, which was preferred by consumers as compared to Maruti's A-Star due to its outdated looks, and Maruti knows it, by the deteriorating sales of A-Star every month. Maruti thereby did a right thing to launch the automatic variant or simply say upgrade the automatic variant to Ritz as compared to A-Star.
Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel economy figure of 17.16 Kmpl for the Ritz Automatic, which is just 1.33 Kmpl lesser than the manual gearbox version. Apart from Ritz, an automatic gearbox from Maruti Suzuki is present in A-Star, Dzire, SX4, Kizashi and Grand Vitara, thereby making Ritz as the sixth car from its stable to be an automatic one.
The addition of the 4 speed automatic gearbox to the Ritz hatchback has resulted in the weight of the car going up by 20 kilograms, at 1,035 Kgs. Maruti Suzuki could now easily compete with Honda's Brio which recently launched the automatic version of its hatchback.
