Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's largest passenger car maker, has launched a limited edition variant of its Omni van in the domestic market. The Omni has been one of the company's best selling vehicles in the past, and is presently the oldest Maruti product available in India. Pegged as one of the most versatile Multi Utility Vehicles (MUVs), the Maruti Omni limited edition was long due.
Limited edition Maruti Suzuki Omni is equipped with a left side outside rear view mirror, new seat covers, floor mats, CD player with an aux port and four speakers.
The Omni is powered by Maruti Suzuki’s 796cc three cylinder petrol engine that develops 37PS of power and 62Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the back. Upfront, the Omni uses McPherson strut suspension while the rear suspension consists of leaf springs.
Prices of the Maruti Suzuki Omni range from Rs. 2.25 lakh to Rs. 2.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The van could be bought in any of 6 colors available in market.
