Maruti Suzuki plans to be more aggresive in terms of new model launches in India since its rivals are slowly grabbing its market share. Based on SX4, the new models coming are YL1, sedan based on current model and a crossover based on SX4 platform which would be codenamed YAD.
SX4 crossover is currently sold in Europe since 2006 and is shared with Fiat and Suzuki. Fiat sells SX4 crossover under brand name - "Sedici". The other models that Maruti Suzuki plans to launch in India includes
However, Swift and Zen Estilo are scheduled for the facelifts in 2013 itself. The A-Star which is currently not at all moving out of showrooms is also scheduled for a facelift in 2013 before Diwali. The report also mentions launch of small diesel engine by end of 2013/early 2014, however we clearly doubt this and as per our sources, this is scheduled to be launched in end 2014/early 2015.
