Hyundai Motors to discontinue Accent for domestic market from March 2013

Hyundai Motors India Limited, which is currently running at its full capacity due to huge demand for its Eon, i10, i20 and Verna cars in India is planning to discontinue Accent sedan in India market. However,as per the sources, the Korean carmaker would continue to produce the car but only for the export markets.

Hyundai Accent which uses 1.5L Gasoline engine and is also available in CNG option still has a descent domestic demand. But, as per the carmaker the company would like to use this for other models which cater even better demand in the domestic market.

Meanwhile, we heard that Hyundai is working on diesel i10 variant which would be launched in September 2013 in the Indian market and have also spied testing same. The carmaker confirms the smaller diesel engine is under progress and the carmaker is yet to start the production of its smaller diesel engine in a few months from now.

I was such a big fan of Hyundai. But the brand has become such a let down! They have been misleading the mileage of their cars Elantra and Accent which are also available in India !
