Fiat India now plans to rethink on what could be done to utilize the facility in Pune apart from thinking on plans to how to gain momentum in the slow growing market for Fiat in India.
The car maker which has a capacity to manufacture 150,000 vehicles at Pune is not even 50% utilized, that too is utilized since the carmaker assembles Tata Motor's Vista and Manza at its facility apart from making Punto and Linea.
The car maker has now decided to export the India made Punto and Linea to RHD export markets including UK, Japan, Africa and Australia. This would keep their costs low as they had already incured huge costs on setup of the facility which would only give returns only if they utilize the facility.
Apart from this, Fiat has also started inaugurating its exclusive Fiat showrooms, as a part to open 100 exclusive showrooms till end of 2013. Thereby, Fiat will launch other products in the Indian markets. View detailed year wise plans of Fiat for their new launched and facelifts in India.
