Moto Guzzi opens shop in Gurgaon

It was rightly heard recently that Piaggio is planning to bring its premium cruiser brand “Moto Guzzi” to India and hopes to battle it out against flagship Royal Enfield products and against Harley Davidson in the cruiser market. Piaggio also plans to establish 4 of its 8 brands (Aprilia, Derbi, Gilera, Laverda, Ligier, Moto Guzzi, Vespa and Piaggio) in the Indian market.

Ravi Chopra, Chairman and Managing Director, of Piaggio Vehicles India Limited, said, “We are evaluating the right time for the launch of products following the Vespa.”

Moto Guzzi has now made an Indian debut at newly opened Gurgaon dealership. It is the second Aprilia dealership in India, the first being in Pune. Piaggio owns both Moto Guzzi and Aprilia, and has decided that both brands will share space in the new showroom. Bookings for the 110PS Griso 1200 8V are open and deliveries are expected to start in 2013.
