Toyota Astra Motors, the Indonesian subsidiary of Toyota Motors is now planning a new manufacturing facility at Indonesia. The Japanese car manufacturer plans to produce Etios at this manufacturing facility making Indonesia the third plant to manufacture Etios after India and Brazil.
Indonesia’s Trade Minister Mr. Gita Wirjawan quoted, Toyota is expected to export cars from Indonesia to ASEAN and African countries and also to Australia. Moreover, Mr. Johnny Darmawan, President and Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor said that the new manufacturing facility will be funded by six group companies namely Toyota Motor Corporation, Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd., Denso Corp., Toyota Auto Body Co. Ltd., Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Aisin Seiki Co Ltd.
