Honda to launch Brio sedan - Amaze on 23rd November in Thailand, priced at Rs 8.17 Lac

Honda will launch the much awaited Brio sedan - Amaze in Thailand on 23rd November 2012 with a starting price of 455,000 THB (Rs 8.17 Lac). The top end variant of Brio Amaze sedan petrol will be priced at 523,500 THB (INR 9.38 lakhs).

Honda Amaze would be the first from Honda's stable to be powered with a Diesel engine. The car would be launched only in Thailand and India - where in the first launch would be in Thailand this month and in India the car would come in April 2013. The latest buzz in the market is that it would be an all aluminium engine and thus the overall sedan would be much lighter than other sedans in similar segment that currently prevails in the market. The company also reveals that the Diesel engine is being developed by Honda's F1 team and is expected to deliver an astonishingly brilliant fuel economy - rumours suggest it could be 22.5+ Kmpl - ARAI certified.

The Honda Amaze will be sub-four-metre in length and will hence benefit on the excise duty front and could post a serious threat to Maruti's Dzire, Mahindra's Verito and Toyota's Etios sedans. With the Amaze, Honda aims to capture another segment while sustaining the company’s core values of reliability, quality, performance and economy. This is why Honda insists on introducing the Amaze at affordable prices in India by intensifying local sourcing and production for greater cost effectiveness.
