Details, spy images revealed of Brio sedan - Thailand launch next month

Honda Brio sedan is being keenly waited for all those stuck with their bookings of Swift Dzire and even for those who are looking to book their Dzire sedan soon. Yes, we all are waiting for the first actual competitor of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.

The Brio based sedan will measure 3,990mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,407mm. The car’s height and width remain unchanged at 1,485mm and 1,680mm respectively. The increase in length and wheelbase will mean that the Brio based sedan will be much more spacious than the hatchback, with a much more usable boot at 420 liters and the longer wheelbase which will liberate better leg room for the back seat occupants, and this is something that the Brio hatchback sorely lacks. Though the Brio based sedan is bigger than the hatchback, its weight has increase by a marginal 26 kilograms.

As you could see from the image itself, it would not have been so difficult for Honda Motors to finalize the design of their entry level sedan for Indian market, which would be placed between Honda Brio hatchback and Honda City sedan. as you could see, the rear sports a sporty chrome finished strip similar to earlier Swift Dzire, the current one has a full body rear chrome strip.

The car would be the first Diesel sedan from Honda's stable to be launched for Indian market. The car would be officially unveiled in flesh during April 2013. The Brio sedan will be powered by the 1.2 liter VTEC petrol motor. Honda is currently working on two diesel motors - 1.2L Diesel engine, which would be powered in Brio sedan and later onto Jazz hatchback. The 1.5L Diesel motor will be powered in its City sedan but the official confirmation of launch date has still not been revealed, we expect it to be end of 2013. It is being said that the sharp minds at Honda are currently perfecting a 3-cylinder 1.2 liter turbo diesel engine with about 80PS of power and 200Nm of torque for the Brio Sedan. Honda would launch Brio sedan in Thailand first which will be followed by India sometime around April 2013.
