Dacia plans Pick up truck version of Duster in 2014

Duster, the popular variant by both - Dacia and Renault has changes the fortunes of both the companies in few of countries. We have a superb example of changing fortunes of Renault in India by launching this SUV "Duster". The french based carmaker is selling more than 5,000 SUV's in India itself per month.

Renault is now planning to do some tweaks in the current platform and make some thing more appealing and interesting out of Duster. What that is ? It might be a pick up version of this SUV and is expected to come some time in 2014.

It will get two distinct pickup versions, one with a single cab, and one with a double cab. Both are set to arrive on the market some time in 2014, and they will be offered with both front-wheel drive, as well as all-wheel drive. Also, with the updated interior it will be getting courtesy of a minor facelift, it will also accommodate Renault’s new touch-screen infotainment system, called R-Link.

The Pickups will be powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine which develops 105 bhp and the 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine. The former also has a bifuel version for some markets like Brazil while the latter is available in two states of tune – 90 bhp and 110 bhp – just like the Indian Renault Duster.
