Audi starts to start assembling Q3 in India soon



Audi India will soon start the local assembly of its smallest SUV for India - Q3. The head of Audi India Mr. Michael Perschke confirmed the same. The Ingolstadt based luxury car maker, Audi has recently started local manufacturing of Q7, details here and also confirmed at that moment about the local assembling of Audi Q3 in India somewhere about middle of 2013.

Audi has a dedicated assembly line in the VW group factory which was initially constructed to cater the manufacturing needs of Skoda. Audi assembles the A4 and A6 sedans as well as the Q5 and Q7 SUVs. Audi India’s boss Mr. Michael Perschke said, “We are planning to start assembling Q3 in India. We have built a new assembly hall called hall—C..Now with a single shift in the new hall, our installed capacity is reaching out between 7,500 and 9,000 units.”

The luxury car maker has witnessed a huge growth this year and plans to close year with 8,000 units of sale as compared to 5,511 units last year.
