Nissan is working on a One-off "All Gold Nissan GT-R" which will be created in celebration of Usain Bolt's medals at 2012 London Olympics and the one off Gold GT-R will later be auctioned for charity. He is also expected to feature in Nissan's 'WHAT IF' brand campaign. Nissan has also made this Jamaican sportsperson as "Director of Excitement"
Usain Bolt aka ‘Lightning Bolt’, became the world’s highest paid athlete after his medal spree at the 2012 London Olympics. He is partnering Nissan to create a one-off gold Nissan GT-R for charity that will have Bolt’s signature embossed on it and features interior fittings finished in real gold.
The gold Nissan GT-R will be auctioned on eBay and its proceeds which will be announced later in October 2012 will be used to create educational and cultural opportunities for children and young people in the Olympic champion's home country of Jamaica.
Toshiyuki Shiga, Chief Operating Officer, rolled out the obligatory quote, backing Bolt's contribution to the brand. "Nissan shares the spirit of excitement that captivated worldwide audiences at the Olympics,” he said. “There is no-one better qualified than Usain Bolt to help us translate that spirit into great experiences."
Bolt countered with: "Racing is my inspiration, and I want to help Nissan become an even more exciting brand for everyone."
