Mahindra & Mahindra will launch SsangYong Rexton in India on 17th October 2012. The Rexton will be the first high-end SUV under SsangYong banner manufactured from Mahindra's Chakan facility in India. The national launch in Mumbai will be followed by launches in New Delhi and Bangalore &phase wise roll out in other markets.
The SUV was first displayed at 2012 Auto Expo and was highly liked by the audience and was one more show stopper at the Auto Expo 2012 apart from well known Ford EcoSport. Thereafter, it was also displayed at Busan International Motor Show.
The SUV is expected to be placed even above XUV 5OO and will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Renault Koleos, Chevrolet Captiva and Ford Endeavor however, being a Korean company coupled with the market expertise of selling SUV's in India of Mahindra's, the car is expected to be pretty price competitive and will be launched some where between Rs 16-20 Lac price range and will thus make it a good choice among those nearing Rs 25 lac SUV's.
