Mahindra Quanto bags 5,000 bookings in less than first month of launch - Spotted testing in Brazil

Mahindra Quanto - the first Indian Compact SUV yet capable of accomodating 7 adults was launched on 20th September 2012. Its not even a month since this Compact SUV has been launched from Mahindra's stable, the company yet claims to bag 5,000 bookings.

Let us also remind you this is the first ever smallest engine to be twin turbocharged. The 1.5L 100 bhp diesel engine can bring a lot of Sedans to shame. The SUV was launched in four variants targeting every segment from Hatchback to sedans to SUV strategically priced from Rs. 5.82 Lac to Rs 7.36 Lac.

Commenting on the response to Quanto, Pravin Shah, chief executive - Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said, It is a delight that the Quanto has received over 5,000 bookings in a short span of three weeks. This response strengthens our belief that Quanto will be able to create a new category within the SUV segment with its unique value proposition. This gives us the confidence that the customers appreciate the Quanto's distinctive looks, flexible 5+2 seating & go anywhere capability. We would like to thank them for the convinction they have shown in the Quanto.

The even more interesting part is the Mahindra is still not satisfied with the sales of this car and is striving to go global with this Compact SUV - the way it did with already the segment leader Mahindra XUV 5OO by launching it in Europe and South Africa too. The Mahindra Quanto too was spotted testing in Brazil along with XUV 5OO and Scorpio and as per the company - the Quanto would soon be launched in other markets and will be exported from India.
