First locally produced Mercedes SUV - ML 250 CDI launched in India at Rs 46.5 Lac

Mercedes has launched their ML 250 CDI version - which would be the first locally built SUV in India, this is a trim down version of ML 350 CDI. The third-generation M-class SUV (ML 350 CDI) was launched in May this year is currently offered with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel.

In the lower priced version, the ML250CDI model will come with a smaller 2.2 Liter, 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine instead of the 3 liter, V6 TDI unit. The 250 CDI version would be priced a good Rs 10.4 Lac cheaper than its elder sibling at rs 46.5 Lac, ex-showroom price.

The Mercedes ML 250CDI comes with a 204bhp 2.2 litre, twin turbo four cylinder diesel engine. It’s the same motor that powers the E250 CDI and the C250 CDI and makes a very healthy 51kgm of torque. The 350 CDI motor churns out 63.2kgm of torque. Clever gearing has also been used to make best use of the power and torque developed by the 2.2 litre motor.
