Chevrolet Sail U-VA will launch their new hatchback on 25th October 2012. The new car will have more ground clearance, will have a class leading space and fuel efficiency. The car maker says, we will first launch Sail hatchback in India however the sedan version would be launched in 2013.
The hatchback was designed and developed by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Centre (PATAC) which is jointly managed by GM and SAIC. As per the sources, the car was launched in China in January 2010 and became an instant hit due to its space, specifications and an excellent fuel economy among its peers in its class. Since, the car is selling around 25,000 units per month in China apart from exports to Latin America and other countries.
Chevrolet Sail obtained a very good 4-Star rating in the CNCAP crash tests and comes equipped with usual safety features like ABS, EBD and airbags. The specifications of the car as follows -
